Description[]

At the start of each turn, a creature or player with Poison X is dealt X damage.

Poison is a form of recurring damage which can be inflicted on a creature or player. At the beginning of each turn, a creature or player that has Poison takes damage equal to the amount of Poison it has. Since Poison is a form of damage, it can be prevented by Armor and will trigger damage based effects like those on Necromoeba or Dozer, the Dormant. Poison will also stack, meaning that if two separate effects give Poison to a target, the resulting amount of Poison is equal to the sum of the two effects.

Since Poison triggers at the start of each turn, it is often part of a larger batch of triggers. For example, if a creature has both Poison and Regenerate, it will take damage and heal during the same trigger batch. Death is checked at the end of a batch so the creature will die only if its final health total is at or below 0. Another example is Shardplate Delver, which gains attack and health at the start of each of your turns. If a Shardplate Delver begins the turn with 2 health and has 3 Poison, it will still survive the start of the turn. Within the batch it takes 3 damage from Poison giving it -1 health, but also gets +2 health from its own ability. At the end of the batch when death is checked, its health is 1, so it stays alive.
